It's that time again for Runoff to hit and for me to head to the Lakes! There's something about Stillwater that get's me going each Spring and Summer for some outstanding hatches. Hatches, big fish and perhaps few crowds can be nice especially seeing how runoff can chase everybody off the rivers.
Pyramid Lake is one of those places that's just too good to describe. If you haven't been there than you haven't truly been big fish huntuing in Stillwater. It's not only the food source there that makes this place so special but the size of fish that simply dwarfs most other Lakes around. The guys at "Everything Stillwater" can point you in the right direction and keep you updated as to what's going on at Pyramid Lake.
I'm a huge Stillwater fan most of my fishing buddies can attest to and once ice off happens, guess who's getting ready to take the boat out? Must be to the fact that I'm lucky enough to hangout with guys who keep me updated on top flies and teach me something new each time. All I can think of about are dialing in on the Chironomids, Damsels and Callibaetis hatches this year.
This was shot by my friend Lee from TheFishFly who's there right now

Bigerrfish- I wish I could catch a fish like that, sorry not me this time but when I get back there I may get lucky hopefully.
Shoreman-I hear you I've got a few around here I can't wait to hit as well in the mean time!
Looks like that lake holds some massive fish. Cutthroats are one of my favorite fish out there. GOOD LUCK!!
That place indeed holds some monster Cutty's, got a friend out there right now this week fishing, can't wait to hear back how he did..
