Monster Browns Showing Up In Michigan Again

Monster's in Michigan

One of my favorite Brown fisheries in the country is none other than Michigan. With so many great waterways including the Au Sable, Pere Marquette and Manistee River, there's plenty of options.

I first learned about night fishing for browns on the Au Sable some 13 years ago and thanks to Rusty Gates for hosting us, he will always be remembered after passing not long ago.

Whether you're into night fishing, gorgeous float trips, navigating your way around the Upper P, this place has it. All I know is I can't wait to get back to Michigan to chase browns again next year!

Colorado Fall Fishing, More Great Night Action For Big Trout!

The Fall Night Bite is On

What to do when you have a free weekend and have been been hitting all the top Tailwaters in Colorado? Keep the streak alive and head back to another favorite river for some night fishing.

This weekend bright some incredible weather and even more incredible fishing to remember. The hatches were pretty sweet all day but I'm not that big into crowds when I fish so I was prepared to spend some long hours after sunset.

pannybow22

Big bows and careful casting brought out this piggy to hand, thank goodness I had some net help this evening. Not sure if I could have landed a few of these by myself.

pannybow44

What happens when you've fished 15 hrs, had a few drinks and you're trying to get a big fish shot? You're gonna need better reflexes and a more cooperative fish! no one was harmed in the making of this shot ;)

pannybow77

Gorgeous browns are the target of my affection this Fall season. This river didn't dissapoint nor did their colors!

pannybow33

Just couldn't get enough of the big bows, they were out in full force and no streamers needed this night to get a bite.

pannybow66

Can't wait to get back for more top action again to this hot spot. Who needs to fish during the day when you get this lucky at night. Sleep in, fish a little and get ready for another perfect night of fishing this month!

Monster blue marlin caught after 28-hour battle off Cabo San LucasBy

What a Fish!!

Some reports listed the weight of a blue marlin landed Sunday off Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, at an eye-popping 1,213 pounds, a record for the resort destination. Others claimed the behemoth fell short of "grander" status, weighing only 972 pounds on a marina scale.

Whatever the weight of the billfish, it was an extraordinary catch, especially considering that the battle played out for nearly 28 hours, giving this yarn a Hemingway quality that seems more like fiction than fact.

The angler credited with the catch is Richard Biehl of Traverse City, Michigan, but he had help from the crew aboard the 31-foot yacht, Go Deep, which was plying the Pacific Ocean north of Cabo San Lucas at Baja California's tip.
