Christo's Arkansas River Project Delayed!

The Legal Fight Is On

Christo is delaying his plan to drape 5.9 miles of fabric over the Arkansas River as local lawsuits and federal appeals continue to plague the famous artist's grandiose project.

While confident the Bureau of Land Management's November 2011 Record of Decision will withstand several legal challenges, the Bulgarian-born artist on Tuesday announced the project's official unfurling will be delayed beyond the planned two weeks in August 2015.

"Our date for exhibition for Over The River is temporarily on hold," said Christo, who met this week with Gov. John Hickenlooper and BLM officials in Denver before rallying with supporters Tuesday in Cañon City. "We can't have a date with all that litigation hanging over us."

Shark Week is Back Celebrating 25 Years On Discovery!

It's that time again to celebrate one of this year's most anticipated weeks on TV..Shark Week! It was close to 20 years ago that I got hooked on Shark week and each year since, I countdown the days till those Great White shark jumps begin. What started was a late night out in August while at the University of Georgia getting home at 1am to turn on the tube and found this amazing Documentary, I didn't stop watching it that faithful night until 6am that morning! I can't stay up that late anymore, but I still max out my DVR each year with shark episodes.

Did I mention that my wife has a complete Phobia of sharks and can't even watch the commercial let alone hear me talk about it, this makes it a little challenging on who get's the remote each night

The Discovery Channel's Shark Week, which first aired on July 17, 1988, is a week-long series of feature television programs dedicated to sharks. Shark Week is held annually, normally running in July or August. Shark Week was developed to help the average person have a greater respect for sharks. Shark Week is now broadcast in over 72 countries.

Colorado's Best Summer Fishing..Head To Rocky Mountain National Park

The roads are getting more crowded and so are the local trout streams, one thing comes to mind....It's Summer Fishing in Rocky Mountain National Park time again! Yes, there may still a few in the Park's waters, but if you know where to look you can escape the masses.

When the temps warm up and the lakes start to thaw out "pretty much right now" most in Colorado know that Greenbacks are on the bite! There are plenty of hot spots to fish in Colorado during the Summer and one of the main decisions to deal with is, where are the people not fishing and where can I fish that run off is not taking place? Good thing to know and especially how to deal with. With a little bit of research and some know how, a few locations in RMNP can provide you with all one needs to escape for that Rocky Mountain high adventure.

Populations of at least four trout species exist in the park - brown, brook, rainbow, and cutthroat. Some suckers also inhabit the streams and lakes. Only 48 of the 156 lakes in the park have reproducing populations of fish. Cold water temperatures and lack of spawning habitat prevent reproduction in high altitude lakes. Supplemental stocking is done only to restore native species to altered waters. Fishing success at high altitudes varies, even from waters known to contain fish. Restoration efforts have kept the possession limits to a minimum, and have resulted in increased trout populations in many areas within the park.

Even though Summertime has some of the best dry fly action around, more crowds and warmer temps, Fall fishing in RMNP there can also prove successful so don't forget to come back again in a few months.
