"In The Land Of Cutthroats Video" Chosen By Fly Fishing Film Tour

In the Land of the Cutthroats - Trailer from Reel Escape Films on Vimeo.

The Wait Is Finally Over

Plenty of good videos to check out this year, no doubt from this class of top videos being selected it looks to be the best one yet! One that is worth seeing over and over again is "In The Land Of Cutthroats". Whether or not you've heard of Nick Clement from ReelEscape Films....you will shortly after the Film Tour Show begins!

Yes I am a fan and truth be told, I am a little biased. I was lucky enough to be in a few of his Saltwater and Trout trailer videos scroll down my blog on the right so there it is! Hopefully I can get back on the water with him soon and notwithstanding my skills to catch fish on cue when needed, we've had some fun trips. The featured Cutthroat video is one I've watched many a times and get's me anxious for some Cutthroat fishing again this year! Nick is one talented Videographer; you must be if you're appointed the position from the Colorado DOW to shoot their hunting/fishing videos as well as being chosen by the Fly Fishing Film tour. Congrats also goes out to our fly tying wiz Brian, who was the featured fly tyer in the video and is definitely not a newby around the camera as well.

The film tells the story of three native trout species that evolved along the Continental Divide in Colorado. From ancient beginnings in tepid coastal waters, the wayfaring cutthroats found their way to the loftiest slopes of the Rocky Mountains and into the hearts of modern fly fishers. After a medley of mountain scenery, cutthroat trout, mayflies, and cutting-edge time-lapse photography, the film takes viewers to a high-mountain lake for action-packed angling for greenback cutthroat trout.

Pike Season is Here! Pike on a Fly and Fighting The Crowds

Colorado Pike Fishing, Watchout for Those Big Teeth!
Fly Fish Addiction Pike Section and Tips

Here's an idea, let's head out to fish a local favorite Lake of mine and since it's a Tuesday 6am, not a problem having the place to ourselves.....Wrong! Thanks to Charlie Myers and Bass Pro Shops for the Public Notification

Despite a favorite local waterway opening recently one weekend we thought we would beat the crowds and fish it during the week, well so did about 150 others the same day. Not quite what I had in mind, but than again what do you do, the words out, unemployment is pretty high so there's a bunch of guys out there doing their interviewing on the water.

Nick, from Reelescape Films, came along for some fun as well as my other Fishing Pal Steve. Both had a great time and Nick got into those Toothy critters right away...Can you say on the 2nd cast, nice going! Fun time had by all for despite an early fish outing before work. I could do this everyday. I think we'll wait a few weeks till the crowds drop otherwise it may be a bit too Kenai River -es for me.

Shoutout Fishing Sites Week! Fishing Buds Websites

This week is dedicated to some Top Fishing Sites by my Protege's!!!!!

To start the week what better person to showcase than an up and coming Videographer that has the experience, the travels and fishing background to list as a site to checkout!

Nick Clement with Reelescape Films has a great site and has a few more travels to go before he has an awesome video full of some outstanding worldwide adventures. Can't wait to see your recent Redfish pics from your latest trip!

Also checkout his Blog that includes the Colorado Division of Wildlife fish films, it's full of Fall spawning fish underwater. One last thing which is a must to see is to check out the latest Fly Fishing Colorado video that he also helped with! Fly fishers dreaming of the days ahead on Colorado lakes and streams can amplify their visions by immersing themselves in “Fly Fishing Colorado”, a new feature-length DVD from the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW).
