Fly Fishing Salmonfly's In The Box Canyon - Henry's Fork Snake River, Idaho

Fly Fishing Guides of Idaho Montana & Yellowstone with Mike Lawson. Henrys Fork Anglers experience the vast flyfishing waters of the Henrys Fork and South Fork Yellowstone NP the Madison River Hebgen Lake & Montana rich history and continued excellence.

This time of year you need to head up towards the Henrys Fork some serious dry fly action and incredible fishing. Hopefully I can try and make it back there early Fall if possible, otherwise I'll just have to watch a few more videos and dream about the Henrys Fork!

Summer Stillwater Fishing in The Rockies

Stillwater Action is Back

Another great weekend getting back to another a favorite Lake location. With the Summer season here, there is no other place that I want to be. With few crowds, no mosquitos and a few hatches to speak of, this was the perfect weekend!

Light wind helped the fishing even more and with the Chironomid hatch on from 10-1pm, there was plenty of time to catch a few feeders.

Another nice rainbow on the take. 2 on at once was a pretty nice suprise as well, one took a chironomid and one on my streamer rod chasing a seal bugger.

I don't think you can camp any closer to the water. This is one of my favorite spots in all of Colorado, great weather, few crowds and good fishing.

Pete enjoying a nice morning out casting to a few risers with some antelope in the background. Great morning out again with very few crowds.

BocaDawg enjoying about 20 risers out by the campsite

Photo Slideshow: Snorkeling for Greenback Cutthroat

Photo Slideshow: Snorkeling for Greenback Cutthroat

Last Friday I punished myself with a four mile hike, up a couple thousand feet in to Rocky Mountain National Park to try and get a glimpse of the underwater world of the greenback trout in one of my favorite "close lakes" to fish. I brought my underwater housing, dry suit, snorkel, and way too much camera gear. Like 50 or 60 pounds worth... The premise was to shoot some underwater footage for a book project that I'm working on with friend Geoff Mueller, and show a handful of my friends the fishery.

Weekend Hacks...Chasing Tarpon!

What is my Favorite Species to chase? Tarpon without a doubt and whenever May/June roll around I can not get enough reports as to how Tarpon fishing is doing in South Florida. My buddy Colin just moved down that way and is already loving it, depsite missing Alaska. My other pal Dave just got back from a week in the Keys and boated 3 Poon so lot's of good fishing.

I can't wait to get back down there again soon myself, maybe a trip this Fall!
