Summer Stillwater Fishing in The Rockies

Stillwater Action is Back

Another great weekend getting back to another a favorite Lake location. With the Summer season here, there is no other place that I want to be. With few crowds, no mosquitos and a few hatches to speak of, this was the perfect weekend!

Light wind helped the fishing even more and with the Chironomid hatch on from 10-1pm, there was plenty of time to catch a few feeders.

Another nice rainbow on the take. 2 on at once was a pretty nice suprise as well, one took a chironomid and one on my streamer rod chasing a seal bugger.

I don't think you can camp any closer to the water. This is one of my favorite spots in all of Colorado, great weather, few crowds and good fishing.

Pete enjoying a nice morning out casting to a few risers with some antelope in the background. Great morning out again with very few crowds.

BocaDawg enjoying about 20 risers out by the campsite

I'm not a huge stillwater fisherman, but I had the most fun last week fishing small lakes and ponds. Looks like you enjoy it as well.

Yes I love it and despite it being very challenging, getting away from the masses on the rivers and being able to camp lakeside also makes it nice!
